The mission of the Eleventh Judicial District Youth and Family Services is to hold youth accountable for their actions, offer rehabilitative services, provide youth and their families the resources and skills necessary to achieve positive change and provide a wide range of prevention services to the community.
The Eleventh Judicial District Youth and Family Services was established pursuant to statute. The agency is under the jurisdiction of Eleventh Judicial District Judge Jim C. Shirley, along with the Juvenile Probation Advisory Board. Daniel Baldini serves as the Chief Juvenile Probation Officer.
The Juvenile Probation Advisory Board is a board that advices and gives direction to Youth and Family Services. The existence of the Board is mandated by N.R.S. Chapter 62. Advisory board members are appointed by the District Court Judges. The Advisory Board includes representatives from each county. It meets on a quarterly basis to discuss all aspects of the agency. Meetings are in held in Hawthorne, Lovelock and Battle Mountain.
